Unstoppable Sweep-TEQNIX 2010 (24th and 25th March)

LDCU (LD College Unstoppable) initiated its activities in LD College of engineering with the event Unstoppable Sweep in Teqnix 2010 – The National level technical festival of LDCE. The two day event was planned targeting social and civic issues around the campus and to promote LDCU in the campus.

CREATIVE DUSTBIN MAKING
The first day of the event consisted of a dustbin making race where the participating teams had to solve clues and get the materials for making the dustbin with equal marks for timing and creativity. The competition was planned to address the cleanliness problem around the campus. The event witnessed huge participation and creativity at its best. Innovative Dustbins like one having separate area for biodegradable and non biodegradable waste and one using waste leaves and posters were made. The event got LDCU good promotion and visibility around the campus. Around 10 dustbins were made and placed at different locations around the campus.

KINDNESS CLICK
The second day started with the event kindness click. The idea of this event was to endorse the idea of kindness among the participants. The participating teams had to click pictures while doing kindness activities around the campus in a given amount of time. The teams performed activities like helping a labourer pull his handcart, cleaning the campus, interaction with traffic cops, gifting a book to an underprivileged kid and giving food to beggars.

AD MAKING
The event was organized to spread awareness about various social issues prevailing in the society today. The participating teams had to prepare advertisements on the issues given to them. The performances were held in an open garden to target audiences around the campus. Awareness about issues like save the girl child, join army, action against terrorism and antismoking were highlighted.
The event helped LDCU in getting a membership base of more than 50 enthusiastic and dedicated students who are conscious about their social responsibility and in their own small way want to make this world a better place to live in.
